Work of the Week - Week 7!
We have been learning about The Night Sky for topic and our poem this week was a Haiku.

Here are two brilliant Haikus written by Kaya - they combine our poem and topic focus.

The moon has no life
It's filled with rocks and craters
It orbits the earth

Space is filled with stars
The earth is filled with people
This world needs our help

Work or the week - Week 4!
We have been learning new skills which will help us set up our very own blogs - exciting!
Today we looked at "thinglink" which will help us make images we use as profile pictures or add to the blog more interactive.
Today John used thinglink to add information and links to an image of himself.

Work of the Week! From Week 2

During Topic we have been learning about what happens to us when we get angry and how we can calm down. Lundi has used his time during writing to produce a great explanation based on our topic focus. This is a work in progress, but it's looking great so far!

How to stop anger

This explanation is about how to control anger and what it does to you.

When you're angry you're blood rushes faster and your veins extend so people know you're angry. Your pupils dilate when you're angry. There are some reasons why your pupils dilate. The most common reason is the dark  environment.

To control your anger you could use  some breathing techniques. An easy technique is 4,7,8. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7, slowly breathe out for 8 seconds. You could laugh. It's always good to have a good laugh either you're making someone else laugh or someone makes you laugh. Laughing or smiling releases chemicals called oxytocin, dopamine and serotonin.

Work of the Week, Week 10!

ANGER
                                Anger is tanks shooting bombs
Anger is like a cloud up in my head striking, lightning and rain
Anger is fire in your head burning happiness
Anger is a burning fire red and yellow
Fire is a fist pulling out happiness
Teasing is fire... back and forth. Really it should stop.

Work of the Week, Week 8!

We've been continuing to try new websites and activities and came across another great one! Storybird is a site that lets you choose an image to arrange words around, or choose many images to write your own story alongside.

Here is a great example written by Lleyton. He's not quite finished, but we couldn't wait to post it!

Art club work

Coincidentally, Alani (Room 3) had been learning to draw Wolves in Room 4's art club (on each Tuesday during Morning Tea) in weeks 6 and 7. Look at the effort he's put in!

We have been focusing on procedural writing. Here are some instructions written by Kaya. She has practised using Screencastify by recording herself reading through her instructions.
